35th Anniversary Journey to Ghana

Celebrate 35 years of friendship, shared memories, and the legacy of A.H. Parker High School with a meaningful journey to Ghana designed especially for the Class of 1992, along with spouses and friends.

This 10-day heritage experience will combine history, culture, fellowship, and reconnection as travelers explore Accra and Ghana’s Central Region. The journey is designed to honor both the significance of A.H. Parker High School within Birmingham’s Black community and the broader connection between African Americans and the African continent.

Planned experiences include visits to the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Site, Cape Coast Castle, and Elmina, along with cultural activities, Ghanaian cuisine, shopping, entertainment, and a traditional naming ceremony.

The experience will also include special opportunities for classmates to reconnect, including a Class of 1992 35th Anniversary celebration in Ghana.

More than a vacation, this journey is an opportunity to reflect on history, celebrate how far the Class of 1992 has come, experience Ghana beyond the usual tourist path, and create new memories together on the African continent.
